Wedding Photography at St Clements Church and Albert Halls Manchester

What an incredible day this was. Chris and Rachel tied the knot, and it was an absolute joy to be there to capture the real, unscripted story of their celebration.

When Chris and Rachel first got in touch, they wanted a day that felt relaxed, authentic, and completely true to them. They were looking for an honest, documentary record of their wedding without spending hours standing around for endless, stiffly posed photos. Naturally, we were a perfect match.

A Local Ceremony at St Clement’s Church

The day started right here in Urmston at St Clement’s Church. There is always something incredibly special about shooting a wedding locally. The energy throughout the morning was fantastic, full of nervous anticipation, shared jokes, and quiet moments of preparation.

I kept to the background, simply documenting the day as it naturally unfolded. The ceremony itself inside St Clement's was full of genuine warmth. My focus here is always on the unscripted reactions, such as the proud glances, the loud laughs, and the brilliant, chaotic energy of the guests celebrating as the new Mr and Mrs walked down the aisle.

Into the City for the Albert Halls Reception

After making it official in Urmston, everyone headed into the city centre for a brilliant reception at the spectacular Albert Halls in Manchester.

The transition from a classic local church to the grand, dramatic architecture of the Albert Halls gave the day a fantastic sense of occasion. The historic venue is always stunning, but it looked even better filled with all their family, friends, and so much laughter.

While guests were enjoying their welcome drinks and taking in the incredible surroundings, Chris, Rachel, and I slipped away for just ten minutes to capture a few portraits. Having already done a pre-wedding shoot together in the city, they were completely relaxed in front of the lens. No awkward, manufactured poses were needed, just a few quiet moments for them to catch their breath as newlyweds in the afternoon light before heading straight back to the party.

An Evening of Real Moments

As the sun went down, the formalities completely dropped away. Documenting the evening reception at the Albert Halls was a definite highlight, from the roar of laughter during the speeches to the packed, high-energy dance floor.

From the quiet, emotional moments at the church to the lively celebrations in the heart of Manchester, it was the perfect reflection of them as a couple: relaxed, genuine, and completely happy.
