Choosing the right backdrop is about more than just a pretty view; it’s about finding a space where you feel at home. Having spent two decades exploring every corner of Greater Manchester, I’ve found that the best locations offer a mix of character and quiet spots where we can work without a crowd. Whether you want the industrial energy of the city or a peaceful escape in the suburbs, here are a few of my go-to spots:

My Approach: Documenting the Real You

My approach is built on a very simple philosophy: the best photos happen when you’ve forgotten the camera is there. After two decades of photographing couples across Manchester, I know that 'posing' is usually what people dread most. That’s why I don’t do it.

Instead, I focus on the genuine connection between the two of you. Think of our session as a relaxed walk through the city or park—we chat, we explore, and I look for the natural, unscripted moments in between. My goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable enough to be yourselves, ensuring your portraits feel like an honest reflection of your relationship, not a staged performance.

What to Expect: A Relaxed Walk, Not a Photo Shoot

If you’re worried about feeling 'on the spot,' don’t be. We start with a coffee or a quick chat to catch up on your wedding plans and settle into the day. From there, we simply take a walk through our chosen location.

As a veteran of over 20 years, I don’t use a checklist of rigid poses. Instead, I look for the best light and the most interesting backdrops Manchester has to offer. I’ll give you just enough direction so you don’t feel 'lost,' but I mainly focus on the candid interactions—the laughs, the glances, and the quiet moments. By the end of the first twenty minutes, most couples tell me they’ve completely forgotten about the camera.
